Why Egypt's Economy Matters | Economy of Egypt | Econ
Egypt's economy is complex, with historical significance 📜, strategic importance 🌍, and modern challenges 🚧. The transition from a state-controlled to a market-oriented economy has been slow, hindered by military influence that stifles private investment 🚫. Egypt relies mainly on agriculture 🌾, media 📺, petroleum imports 🛢️, natural gas 🔥, and tourism 🏛️. It is a regional power in North Africa, the Middle East, and the Muslim world 🌍, and a middle power globally 🌐. The Suez Canal 🚢 is a major strategic asset and a key source of foreign reserves, along with tourism. Infrastructure projects have created jobs but had mixed results 👷♂️, while high inflation 📈, currency devaluation 💸, and ris...

you nailed all points, informative video. well done
Stats and numbers are inaccurate in the first half of the video.
The video ignored the essential challenges, it’s completely normal and needed to have the military taking care of everything when Egypt is surrounded with wars from every direction. Egypt fought terrorism for 10 years that was supported by multiple intelligence agencies and won.
Don’t be fooled!
Well, thats so interesting @Econ but you totally missed that both countries are invader settler societies built on STOLEN LAND + GENOCIDE... but AUSTRALIA as a $$looter colony in ASIA has no future... the white occupation is irrelevant to extracting resources which makes it extremely susceptible to future shock... they are also very xenophobic + habitually spit on CHINA, their major trading partner. Australia also has difficulty in coming to terms with neighboring INDONESIA, the world's largest Muslim nation (pop. 278 million)

Why is South Korea "emerging"? They are considered "first world" by all standards.
I was in Egypt this year. It sucks. Garbage everywhere, even in Sahara. Poor people, poor country, uneducated women, everywhere you go, if they see you beeing foreigner, they are trying to scam you/steal you. I had enough
Simple, the thatcher conservative of privatisation era sold everything to keep their power, make themselves and their friends rich and keep them rich. It worked and the 1% corrupt elite keep all the power and riches. The UK have limited resources to sell anymore leaving us owning what? The NHS??. Our water isn't our own, our gas/elec supplies are not our own, soon the NHS will not be ours. It's the only thing left. One day, for the 1st time ever, it may become the rest of us 99% against the 1% corrupt elite.
"Egypt has more energy than it can use." Not true at all. There is a power outage in every household for two hours daily in Egypt for the last 8 months.
This is the most accurate video on the current state of the Egyptian economy I have seen
We are a country encircled by conflicts on all sides : Gaza , Sudan , Libya and the Turkish ambition in the Mediterranean, in an unstable region, Plus from 2013 to 2019, we also fought against extremist groups where a strong army is essential for maintaining Egypt security and stability. Under previous governments. Projects that once took 10+ years due to embezzlement and corruption, which was rampant now take just 3 years to complete under the current administration. The presence of military oversight has been crucial in reducing corruption.
There is a world war in the perspectives, and spreading roamer about the enamies of the west are ine of the western tools, anyways Egypt will be one of the world rivals in the coming 30 years

I DONT LIKE THAT THEY WASTED TIME AND MONEY BUILDING THESE PYRAMIDS. IN A WAY IT HAS PAID ITS WAY WITH TOURISM IN THESE MODERN TIMES BUT GENERATIONS THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO HAVE PAID A JEAVY PRICE. WE DONT KNOW HOW RICH EGYPT COULD HAVE BEEN IF THESE PYRAMIDS WERE NEVER BUILT.

Best thing Egypt allies can do is to stop bailing them out and ask the military to step out of the economy.
US says no
The best thing for you is to educate urself
You mean the US basically which wont do that cuz they need the Egyptian leader to listen to them in order to protect their interest and israel.

Bitcoin is on its way to breaking records, getting closer to hitting new high prices, showing that it's gaining more value and could go even higher than we've seen before. This could mean great things for people looking to invest, suggesting now might be a good time to get involved before it jumps even higher. It's an exciting moment that could change the game in general...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 27Bitcoin....At the heart of this evolution is Linda Wilburn, whose deep understanding of both cryptocurrency and traditional trading has been instrumental. Trading with an expert is the best strategy for beginners and busy investor s who have little or no time to monitor their trades.
The key to financial stability is having the right investment suggestions for a diverse portfolio. Many investment failures and losses happen when you invest without proper guidance.

I still don't think Vietnam is rich in economy, the truth is still behind Thailand and Indonesia, and maybe Philippines.
Australian economy is much worse since covid mass mass increase in immigration rent and house prices have doubled no availability 100s of thousands of working family's living in tents and the unemployed barely surviving due to high food prices and homelessness.
The US and west and because of Israel want Egypt to stay alive but weak.. That's why they are supporting the military rule..
Average IQ of Kenya vs Singapore
Mismanagement + corruption+ dictatorship + army control = failed economy with 60% under poverty line or slipping under it! Life in Egypt is becoming harder and harder as the poor are getting poorer and the rich and the elite are amassing wealth like never before!
its also hard to focus your economy when you have wars happening on all your borders : Gaza , Sudan and Libya. and issues with some local extremes groups
Hahahaha 😂 As if corruption and military control just happens and it is not a planned policy!
The security issues certainly affect tourism and of course the Suez Canal revenues. Egypt must focus on selling state assets and slowly reducing government spending.

looks like u havent heard about yom kippur wat 1973. egypt got sinai back
@@MegaAhmad1994and looks like you haven’t read your history either. I’m Egyptian and Egypt didn’t win that war. We gained an advantage first few days after Oct 6. But then few days after we were basically pushed back and Israel stopped only due to western pressure. Eventually leading to camp David accords. We didn’t win that war.
@@MrJoeSomebodyEgypt won strategically. The Sinai peninsula is virtually useless besides the Suez Canal. Sadat stopped his offensive at the east bank of the Canal. That war was about Egypt regaining the Suez Canal revenues which they successfully recovered.
@@MrJoeSomebodyIsrael didn’t push the Egyptian army back. They exploited a gap in the Egyptian forces and went into mainland Egypt. Every battle they had in mainland Egypt resulted in a loss for the Israelis.
@MrJoeSomebody 😂😂 OK I am an Israeli and saying egypt won this war, and except for usa, Israel would have been erased from the middle east? Also u as Egyptian should have known some of the Egyptian empirial eras
Why did you remove Western Sahara from your map ?

Can you do a video on Ethiopia's economy
As an egyptian I can proudly say that, everyone tried to control us and our importance (have history read :3) but they all failed Trust me the people will wake and we will thrive again
I’m Egyptian too and I’m sorry but you’re way too optimistic. We’ve been controlled successfully for centuries. And now that we rule our selves we’ve effectively turned into a failed state. Future is not bright at all.

Agree!

Egypt is the most overrated country on the planet.
Egypt would be so much better off if they didn’t do the import substitution nonsense. They shouldn’t have taken it for granted that: “More domestic equals more gooder.” scholarship.law.georgetown.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2646&context=facpub
Instead of wasting money on BRI, if I was China's leader I woild have put all the money in widening suez canal and charged toll on traffic for 99 years.
Canal has been widened already and doesn’t need further widening
WE didn't replace the British colonizm of the canal to give it to the Chinese

Without that army no Egypt,we are floating in a sea of conflicts, can't hide the truth when 2011 happened, the army and other governmental institutions keep the state resilient and stable
@@user-ed5ml1qq2f Egypt foundationally needs an army just like a lot of nations what we failed to do is make the army just that "an army" not the leadership + business planner + education developer + the high class + basically everything where they aren't even actual scientists or business and in the egyptian education system being a soldier is LITERALLY the least qualified u can get All of that means that you should let everyone who understands what he's doing handle his thing not all under the interest of one party no matter who it is
